About

Brackish Co. was founded in 2008 in North Carolina by NC born and raised Lynwood Cherry—built on a vision shaped by experience, independence, and a deep respect for snowboarding history. Lynwood got his start snowboarding in NC in the 1993/94 season. When he picked up a VHS copy of The Garden from Edge of the World Snowboard shop in Banner Elk, NC he was hooked forever.

With Brackish emerging from the Southeast, where access to the sport was limited and conditions demanded resilience, Brackish was created with a different perspective. It reflects a generation that learned to adapt, to travel, and to pursue snowboarding not as a trend, but as a way of life.

The name “Brackish” speaks to that movement—where elements meet, evolve, and return in a new form. Like water completing its cycle back to snow, the brand embodies a constant flow between environments, styles, and influences. It is this balance that defines Brackish: grounded yet exploratory, raw yet refined.

Every detail within Brackish Co. is considered. From board design to visual identity, the focus remains on authenticity, craftsmanship, and longevity—eschewing excess in favor of purpose. This is not about mass appeal, but about creating something enduring for those who understand the culture of snowboarding.
